Those pushing for enactment of the less than universal health care bill being gussied up in the House of Reprehensibles are being substantially less than forthright about it.
One of their claims is that the proposed legislation would preserve the right of individuals to obtain private health insurance. However, Investors Business Daily has uncovered a provision embedded in the bill that would prohibit private insurers from issuing new policies after the effective date of the legislation. As this report makes clear, that provision would be the death knell for private health insurance coverage.
In addition, this other Investors Business Daily report shows that proponents of the plan to give the government monopoly powers over every aspect of our health care, also are hiding facts relevant to the debate that would further undermine the appeal of their position and strengthen the case against enactment of the proposed legislation.
