Chillin' the Story 'n Shuckin' the Voters

Detestable politicians faced with inevitable disclosure of their unsavory conduct contrive the prevent the account of their misconduct being spring on the voters in its entirety, and instead let it emerge a bit at a time, thus defusing its impact, as is spelled out in this essay by the estimable Thomas Sowell.

Until the election is past, Obama and  his lackeys undoubtedly will  continue using that tactic to stonewall and obfuscate how they allowed four Americans to die in the 9/11/12 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, and then for weeks lied about their craven conduct and the nature of the attack . . . and the lapdog media journalice will let them get away with doing so.

Composite Picture of Demorats In Campaign Mode

First we have this defacement of a church sign by the anti-Romney vandals:

The other side of the sign stated:
Christ Voted Democrat
This occurred in Huntington, Indiana, and a more complete report can be found here.

Then, there are the thousands of dollars in damages to cars of presumed Romney supporters caused by their being keyed, slashed, and otherwise vandalized in Southern California, according to this report.

And, finally (saving the best for last), there is this account from Jefferson County, Colorado, of the felony conviction of the local Democrat of the Year -- an honorific title that was bestowed upon a Demorat party activist who had stolen the identity and checks of a 71-year-old developmentally disabled, wheel-chair-bound, partially blind cerebral palsy victim.  The honoree had confessed to the crimes in the course of an investigation that was known by the local Demorat unit to be in progress before it made the award.

Obama's Three Benghazi Stooges, But . . .

The Obama administration and its supporting media stooges are desperately avoiding questions about the slaughter of four Americans in Libya on September 11, 2012.  It is to be expected that they will continue to do until after   the presidential election.

Nonetheless, the facts are emerging because (i) local media are not so reticent  about performing the traditional functions of the press, and (ii) intelligence and military personnel who know what transpired and, because of an unwillingness to share blame for it or for some other reason, are beginning, and will continue to disclose what they know.

Thus we have this report of our golden voiced presidential orator repeatedly ducking relevant questions posed to him by a local television station reporter.

In addition, as reported here, CIA Director David Petraeus, is speaking out to distance and absolve his agency from the administration's tragic decision to take no action to attempt to rescue the American personnel while they still were fighting for their lives in Benghazi.

J'Accuse

With more disturbing revelations about what occurred in Benghazi on 9/11/12 coming to light daily, a number of conclusions have become inescapable:

1.  America's diplomatic and security personnel on the ground had recognized the mounting security threats facing them and been seeking additional security forces there since long before the murderous assault against them was mounted.

2.  Those requests for additional protection were denied by unidentified individuals in the chain of command headed by President Barack Obama.

3.  On 9/11, contrary to the cover story disseminated for weeks thereafter by Mr. Obama and his minions, there was no spontaneous demonstration or protest against any obscure Muslim-insulting video around the American facilities in Benghazi.  What took place was a well-planned, well-coordinated, heavily-armed terrorist attack that killed America's ambassador and three other American citizens.

4.  Knowledge of what was transpiring was known contemporaneously by responsible officials at every level in the aforesaid Obama chain of command.  Pleas for assistance from those on the ground were communicated to those officials while the attack was taking place.

5.  Such assistance probably could have been provided in ample time to save the lives of those who died in the attack.  But assistance that might have saved the lives of the embattled Americans was withheld as a matter of choice by those in authority.

6.  The responsible officials -- from the President, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, our intelligence agency chiefs and chieftains, and their multitude of Joseph Goebbels award-winning spokesmen, spokeswomen, and representatives -- have become a chain of liars, desperate to avoid  public exposure of, and any consequence for their abandonment of their countrymen in peril and their subsequent continuing efforts to conceal their incompetence and malfeasance.

7.  The administration is complicit in the slaughter of  the Americans who died serving the nation in Libya last month, and its resort to false explanations, disclaimers, evasions and denials makes clear that it is a collection of shameless but shameful liars.

8.   Equally reprehensible is the assistance that has been and continues to be given by the country's major media outlets to the Obamanists' orchestrated diversionary efforts.  The journalice are trying to sweep the Benghazi debacle under the rug by by avoiding or minimizing coverage of the whole sordid story.

9.  It's long past time for the blunt unvarnished truth about the horrific episode to be made public.

Prophetic Wisdom

As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. [Emphasis added]

Big Names Endorse Obama for Reelection

Chavez, Castro, and Putin all have come out in support of the reelection of Barack Obama. The details are set forth in this report.

It must be gratifying to Mr. Obama to have the support of this troika whose members always have demonstrated that they share his dedication to America's best interests.

Meanwhile, as this account makes clear, Mr. Putin, apparently unable to restrain himself, already is acting in eager anticipation of the greater flexibility that Mr. Obama promised he would enjoy and demonstrate after his reelection.

There's a report out that suggests the above headline . . . and that quite a few opportunistic members of the black underclass aren't happy about it and some of them even are blaming Obama.  Read all about it here.

Honoring the Journalice

Awards bestowed at a recent event were far more deserved than any of the Pulitzer Prizes handed out in recent years. Read all about it here . . . and enjoy the honesty and chuckles.

Equality Achieved

Lying As Standard Operating Procedure

In the aftermath of the Obama administration's efforts to spin the tragic Benghazi murders of America's ambassador to Libya and three other Americans as a result of a spontaneous protest over a silly old video even some of the nation's less dim journalice appear to have awakened to the fact that their heroic golden voiced orator is less than totally dedicated to truthfulness.

In this instance, the lies were a calculated political effort to disguise that the deaths were the result of a terrorist attack, recognition of which demonstrates that, notwithstanding the contrary claims of the administration, (i) terrorism (including al-Qaeda) has not been and is not being defeated and, in fact, is resurgent, and (ii) Obama's foreign policy of appeasement in the Middle East is collapsing as a failed fiasco.

As noted in a prior post on this blog, reality is a problem for America's current president.

That, however, shouldn't surprise anyone . . . not even the nation's media and its curiously uncurious journalice.

Mr. Obama is a fictional fairytale character.  Devoid of any accomplishments or qualifications and with less substance than an empty suit, he was elected to the presidency by inventing and, with the aid of the media, presenting a false persona to the electorate.  Virtually nothing that he and his abetters have said about his personal history is true or capable of withstanding even the most rudimentary examination.

It is any wonder then that when faced with any adverse situation their first instinct is to resort to further falsehoods?

Charlatans are not new in American public life.

What is new and disturbing  is the slavish gullibility of media that have abandoned their function as the public's watchdogs over those seeking and occupying public offices. The moderator of the most recent debate between Mr. Obama and Mr. Romney provided a perfect example of this when she assisted Mr. Obama in falsely denying  his spontaneous protest Benghazi claims and then backed up his untrue denial.  She was aware of the truth, and subsequently acknowledged her error.

What her lapse clearly demonstrated was and continues to be the default position of the nation's journalice -- knee jerk support of the fictional fairytale Obama character.

Where We Stand

Your not-at-all-humble blogger has long long been expressing the idea that the polls are b.s. and predicting that Romney will win in a landslide.

If I am wrong, as I often am and well may be again in this instance, it will show that the Founders' experiment has failed.

In any event though, we, as a people, have failed to protect and defend the values that the nation's founders expressed in the Declaration of Independence and sought to enshrine in the Constitution.  A Romney victory will only slow the decline of the nation and what is referred to as Western Civilization

Nations and civilizations in all likelihood are just as transitory as everything else in the universe.  I think there is more than ample evidence that ours, unfortunately, are well past its apex.  My contemporaries and I enjoyed the blessings of living most of our lives in very good times . . . far better than those our progeny are likely to experience. I'll got down fighting in what probably is just a rearguard action.

Stupidity and ignorance reign triumphantly almost everywhere.

Reality Poses Problem for Obama

Success in recasting his personal provenance to buttress his image in his own mind and in the minds of the voters in 2008 has created a major problem for the president.

In addition to giving him a surfeit of unearned and undeserved self esteem, it has had a side effect.  It has fostered a delusional idea, convincing him that he can similarly wipe out and rewrite the public record of his tenure.

The problem is that the evasions, failures, lies, and pratfalls have been witnessed by the public in real time.  The reality is out in the open.  Neither it nor the experience that it has inflicted on the nation can be erased by the smooth and soothing words of the golden-voiced thespian.

Another Taxpayer Subsidized Green Plant Furloughing Workers

Report from Newsmax (and don't miss the good news in the final paragraph's footnote):

Two years after a groundbreaking ceremony attended by President Obama, a Michigan plant built with $150 million in taxpayer funds to make batteries for hybrid vehicles is putting workers on furlough — before a single battery has been produced.

Employees at the Compact Power manufacturing plant in Holland, Mich., are working only three weeks a month due to a lack of demand for lithium-ion cells.

The plant — run by LG Chem, a South Korean company — was opened in July 2010 to make batteries for the Chevrolet Volt, a plug-in hybrid vehicle built by GM. But the car has seen sluggish sales, despite a $7,500 federal tax credit for each vehicle, and fewer than 25,000 Volts had been sold by September. Production of the car has been plagued by several plant shutdowns.

“Considering the lack of demand for electric vehicles, despite billions of dollars from the Obama administration that were supposed to stimulate it, it’s not surprising what has happened with LG Chem,” Paul Chesser, an associate fellow with the National Legal and Policy Center, told Fox News.

“Just because a ton of money is poured into a product does not mean that people will buy it.”

The $300 million plant was supposed to produce 15,000 batteries per year and create hundreds of new jobs. But so far just 200 workers are employed at the plant, and batteries for the Volts are instead being made by an LG Chem plant in South Korea.

The Michigan plant has spent the past two years building infrastructure and conducting pre-production “test runs,” Fox reported.

The factory was partly funded by a $150 million grant from the U.S. Energy Department, and received tax breaks from the local government worth nearly $50 million over 15 years in property taxes and $2.5 million a year in business taxes.

Obama told workers at the groundbreaking ceremony: “You are leading the way in showing how manufacturing jobs are coming right back here to the United States.”

But former congressman and 2012 Senate candidate Pete Hoekstra, whose House district included Holland, said the stimulus plan that provided funds for the plant “was designed to create jobs in the short term. It doesn’t exactly meet the criteria of stimulus for me.”

And Kelsey Knight, a spokeswoman for the Mitt Romney presidential campaign in Michigan, said in a statement reported by the Holland Sentinel that “a factory that produces nothing and furloughs workers is a symbol of where American is going under [Obama’s] failed policies.”

Footnote: An LG Chem spokesman said workers who are on furloughs one week a month are eligible to collect unemployment benefits for that week.

Construction Jobs Dwindling

President Barack Obama vowed in February 2009 that the economic stimulus legislation he was signing would create construction jobs for 400,000 people building and rebuilding the nation's infrastructure.

But despite a price tag now estimated at $833 billion, there are 925,000 fewer construction jobs in the United States than in February 2009, and 1,035,000 fewer than when Obama was inaugurated, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

And there are even 484,000 fewer jobs than when the last recession officially ended in June 2009.

When Obama signed the stimulus bill in Denver, Colo., he told a crowd: "Because we know we can't build our economic future on the transportation and information networks of the past, we are remaking the American landscape with the largest new investment in our nation's infrastructure since Eisenhower built an Interstate Highway System in the 1950s.

"Because of this investment, nearly 400,000 men and women will go to work rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges, repairing our faulty dams and levees, bringing critical broadband connections to businesses and homes in nearly every community in America, upgrading mass transit, building high-speed rail lines that will improve travel and commerce throughout our nation."

But in September 2012, according to the BLS, 5,523,000 Americans had jobs in the construction industry, down from 6,558,000 in January 2009, when Obama took office, and down from 6,448,000 in February 2009, when Obama signed the stimulus.

It is also down from 5,564,000 in January of this year, when Obama started the fourth year of his term.

Construction jobs in the United States peaked at 7,726,000 in April 2006.

A Disembodied and Wraithlike Presidency

If one accepts the current administration's disclaimers of responsibility for any any all untoward occurrences and situations, the nation is experiencing, with Barack Obama, its first spectral president.

After almost a full term in the White House, the nation and its people seem to have become inured to Mr. Obama continually blaming widespread unemployment and the dismal state of the economy on his predecessor even though things have continued to deteriorate throughout his tenure. None of that has anything to do with him.

But that's only the beginning of the cascading disavowals of responsibility from the White House for anything and everything that has gone or is going wrong.

A politicized and racist Justice Department -- responsible for (i) dropping prosecution of truncheon wielding New Black Panther Party thugs for trying to intimidate voters, (ii) consistently ignoring hate crimes committed  by members of minority groups, and (iii) thwarting investigations into its running lethal weapons to Mexican drug cartels -- seems to exist as an an organization independent, rather than as part of the administration.  Isn't it part of the government's executive branch that the president heads and for which he is responsible?

Now we have the murderous terrorist attack on our consulate in Libya demonstrating the failure and collapse of Obama's weak foreign policy initiatives . . . and the the administration -- up to and including the vice president and the president's own spokesmen --  is blaming the intelligence community and the State Department for having failed to adequately defend the facility and our people there and then for their own dissembling statements about what transpired.  Are we supposed to believe that the nation's intelligence agencies and the State Department are detached from and independent of the executive branch of the government that the president supposedly leads?

During Harry Truman's day the buck stopped with and was accepted by the President.  What an old fashioned idea.

We now have a glib apparition in the oval office that is detached from the consequences of its ineptitude and shortcomings.

Biblical Take on Debate's Buffoonery

When a wise person debates with a fool, the fool rages and laughs, and there is no peace and quiet.
. . . Proverbs 29:9

Founders' Realism

To judge from the history of mankind, we shall be compelled to conclude that the fiery and destructive passions of war reign in the human breast with much more powerful sway than the mild and beneficent sentiments of peace; and that to model our political systems upon speculations of lasting tranquillity would be to calculate on the weaker springs of human character.
. . . Alexander Hamilton
Federalist No. 34
1788

A universal peace, it is to be feared, is in the catalogue of events, which will never exist but in the imaginations of visionary philosophers, or in the breasts of benevolent enthusiasts.
