Media Dopes In a Tizzy Over Discovering the Obvious

Our almost totally useless media had their collective knickers in another bunch yesterday as they shared with us their curiously uncurious journalists' discovery that the guy who heads the Internal Revenue Service hires a professional to prepare his tax returns because our tax laws' requirements are too complicated for him to understand.

This is another of the blinding glimpses of the obvious in which the press specializes when it isn't treating us like mushrooms -- keeping us in the dark and covering us with B.S.

The real news in the items was and is the happy discovery and revelation that the IRS chief actually files his returns and, in contrast to so many other members of our ruling class, presumably pays his taxes. Also, by admitting that he is baffled by the tax code's complexity, the IRA chief showed himself to be a normal human being, a rare creature in our government.
