A Judge Gets It Right

Declining the Obama administration's efforts to get him to join it on the far side of its magical looking glass, a U.S. Federal District Court judge has ruled that challenges to Obamacare can proceed. In doing so, the jurist noted that in pressing for enactment of the legislative monstrosity, the administration insisted that payments that the law would required from individuals who did not purchase health insurance would be penalties and not taxes, but now are seeking to defend such required payments as a taxes. Declining the administration's efforts to deal from whichever side of the deck it deems most expedient at the moment, the judge, according to reports that can be found here and here called the effort an "Alice in Wonderland tack" and refused to permit it.
