Faux Hero in the White House

The stump turtle* in the oval office is attempting to pose as a heroic warrior president as a tactic in his campaign effort to win reelection to office.

Even many of his fellow liberals and progressives have seen through and are criticizing his shoddy effort to gain political points for his role in the killing of Osama bin Laden. Some of the Navy Seals who actually carried out the mission reportedly are reacting with anger over the attempt of the commander-in- chief to claim credit for the action.

Let's be clear on what happened.  Mr. Obama never served as a warrior or as anything else in any military service.  There is no record of his ever having done anything heroic. All he did in connection with the killing of Bin Laden was to give a go ahead from a comfortable and secure location for a mission planned, put into place, and carried out by others. He was given the opportunity to do this by actions that he criticized and opposed when they were initiated by his predecessor as president.

It is despicably shameful of him to claim credit and seek political advantage for having done that.  His use of troops a background props for self aggrandizing speeches is even worse, bordering on loathsome.

* Explanation of the stump turtle term: When, in the course of driving on a long country road, one comes upon a turtle on a fence post, you stop because it's such a strange thing. You realize the pathetic thing did not get up there by himself, he does not know how he got there, what he's doing, or what he's going to do next. Then you realize you have to do whatever you can to help the dumb creature down.
