Warnings from Our Coal Mine Canaries

Unfortunately for Jewish people throughout recorded history, virulent antisemitism has become widespread time and time again when -- and as a warning sign that -- a society is disintegrating. Jews provide easy scapegoats to blame for ills so pervasive that they are causing a society to collapse. Thus, the popularization of the world's longest standing hatred serves the same purpose as the canaries in coal mines that die of toxic gases before the level of those gases reach levels dangerous to human beings. Unlike coal miners, most people usually ignore the warning signs.

We have become accustomed to the hostility to Israel that is based on and reflects hatred of the Jews in and by an ever increasing number of the world's nations. Now we're seeing the same thing in a significant number of the Occupy Wall Street protesters. We can expect demagogic opportunist to seek power by seeking to lead and further spread the scapegoating even though the temporary success of such would be leaders inevitably leads to disastrous destruction.

Nevertheless, antisemitism among the OWS  demonstrators is denied by the formerly mainstream media under the guidance and leadership of The New York Times, They also missed the same phenomena in Russia as the Bolsheviks were taking control and in German as the Nazis were rising there.
