Another Day Older and Deeper in Debt

The U.S. government's total debt was $10.626 trillion on January 20, 2009 — the day Obama was sworn in as the nation's president. On March 12, 2012, the Treasury Department said the government's total outstanding debt stood at $15,517,051,724,148.90 and will be over $17 trillion at the end of Obama's first term.

West Virginia proverb:

You cannot get the water to clear up,
until you get the pigs out of the creek.
