Even though the congressional ruling clique is trying to make it look as if its members saw the light on their own, it is clear that heat from the voters made the reprehensibles back down and resulted in this victory.
It is important to keep the heat on to win more some victories and to prevent our poohbahs from coming back stealthily (the way they prefer to legislate) with the same self aggrandizing proposal at some future date.
Meanwhile, many of those who still -- for popular consumption -- claim to be public servants once again are off, jetting around the globe, visiting these chic tourist destinations at our expense.
