Glad we connected this morning. It was great to be able to talk with you again.
It amazes me how historically ignorant much of our current population is. I get nothing but blank stares when I point out that popular fears engendered by a financial crisis brought Hitler to power. Nor are most people aware of how he began implementing his messianic promises of change by following Mussolini's earlier example -- initially making his nation's major financial institutions and then its leading industrial concerns subservient to, and allied with the regime.
As I indicated in the course of our discussion, I think we may be headed for some kind of uprising and fear that one may even become necessary. I believe that the administration is seeking to foment such a development and could well send its goons out to stimulate or simulate unrest to provide cover for the imposition of repressive and perhaps even martial rule. Of course the unrest will be portrayed as unlawful looting and rioting, and we may even witness a domestic version of the Reichstag Fire to gain popular support for what the Chicago mob's thugs would like to do.
The hopeful factor is that they are utterly devoid of any understanding of the American people and their character, and possess even less appreciation of the extent to which our military embodies, in a pure a magnified way, the best of those traits.
As the sign in my little old unit's headquarters stated: "Even paranoids have real enemies."
