A Professional's Rejoinder

The preceding post (which appears immediately below this one) has elicited obviously valid criticism from and by a very delightful acquaintance who happens to be a former or semi-retired call girl. She prefers the semi-retired term because, she says, she currently remains active though solely on a pro bono basis with a very limited number of select individuals on special occasions.

In any case, the lady responded to the item by objecting that it unfairly demeans an honest profession that has enabled her to live well and achieve independence and financial security at a relatively early age. Furthermore, she points out, her work never hurt anyone and made her clients happy, giving them joy and satisfaction as well pleasure.

Can any politician truthfully make a similar claim?

Really . . . no foolin'.

P.S.  It is worth noting that the above-mentioned criticism preceded receipt of the priceless comment and recommendation with respect to, and appearing farther below under the title A Modest Proposal for Change in the Interest of Accuracy.
