Global Hokum

Folks caught up in the global warming hysteria would do well to note the observation of H. L. Mencken quoted in the column at the lower right under the Observations, Wit, and Wisdom heading. Charles Mackay's classic book, Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds, is a more detailed exposition on such phenomena.
