Answer: Grand Old Profligates.
When Republicans won control of Congress they promptly set about increasing the size and scope of, and spending by the government at a rate exceeding that of their Democrat predecessors. They squandered our tax money and by doing so they did the same with their majority.
Republicans campaign as conservatives, speechifying about individual rights and responsibilities, small and limited government, controlling spending, . . . blah, blah, blah, blah. It’s all sound and fury signifying nothing. The inescapable fact is that Republicans do a far better job as a minority in opposition than as a governing party.
